Like many others in the Southeast, we have been watching as torrents of rain have hit this region. We have been praying for all those already affected by the flooding in North Carolina, South Carolina, and N Georgia, and pray that the Lord will protect His people as more rains and flooding are scheduled to hit the area tonight and tomorrow. The news is saying the rains and flooding are coming "in biblical proportions". They may very well be correct! I know it is already causing much devastation, and there may be more to come...I pray for the Lord's mercy and grace in the whole situation! Is God causing these storms? No, but He does allow them. When a nation has turned it's back on the Lord, the Lord will often raise His hand of protection, which will in turn, allow the enemy to come in with destruction. Once we break Covenant, it is a natural result. "Well, what about those that are still trusting in the Lord", you might say? I believe the Lord will protect His Covenant people that are trusting in Him to protect them.
Yet at the same time, in the midst of the devastation, I am excited by what I see happening! You may say, "What in the world is there to be excited about? It's awful!"...and in many ways, you are right. However, in other ways, God can take what is meant for destruction and bring something amazing out of it! You see, the natural often mirrors the spiritual, and even though this rain storm may cause much damage and wreak havoc in the natural, I believe the Lord is speaking to His people about what is about to happen in the spiritual...specifically in the regions being affected during these storms.
I believe the Lord showed me this morning that the massive amount of rains and flooding is a sign of the "rain" and "floods" that He is getting ready to send! I keep hearing, "The former rain and latter in the same month"! The Lord is about to send a mighty outpouring of His cleansing, healing rain, and it will flood over His people in an unprecedented way. At the same time all of this is happening, our Apostle, Lynn Alderson is currently on St. Simon Island off the Georgia coast, releasing a word that the Lord has given her out of Ezekiel 47 about coming into the River of God! The Lord gave her this word several days ago, before anyone had spoken about the rain and flooding that was coming. I spoke with her yesterday, and as we shared and prayed about it, the anointing of the Lord was very strong. Then, as I awoke this morning, and watched the weather and all that's coming, the Lord began to speak to me about what all of this means in the spiritual...it's the latter and former rain, all in the same month! It's the rain of the Spirit, that we've prayed for, the "outpouring"...it's the River of God!
The place they are saying will be hit the worst during this storm is South Carolina. The very place that has already had much pain, heartache, and destruction earlier this year, is now receiving another "storm"...but wait, God's not finished! The very place that has been through so much, is about to receive the outpouring of the Lord in a fresh downpour! His River is about to flow in a powerful way, and all the hurt, pain, and destruction, will be washed away in the River! It will be washed away in His Presence! Even the memory of the pain and destruction will be washed away! However, I'm not just talking about South Carolina, although I believe the Lord is getting ready to do great things there (as well as North Carolina, Georgia, and the entire Southeast)...but, this is prophetic, people of God. Let him who has an ear, hear! I'm also talking about the Body of Christ as a whole. The ones who have been through so much, who have experienced such loss, such heartache and destruction in this last season, are the very ones that are about to receive healing, refreshing and the amazing outpouring of His Spirit!
There is healing, deliverance, joy and freedom in the River! There is restoration in the River! There is refreshing and renewal in the River! Oh, how we need the River...and the River is now rising! What is that I hear? It's the sound of the abundance of Rain! The floodgates of His Presence are about to swing open, and those who have sought for more of Him, those who have been in a wilderness, and have become more and more thirsty for Him, are about to receive what they have been asking for. The Lord is beckoning His bride to come...come into His River! Come and let His River refresh and renew your weary soul! He is wanting us to allow His floodwaters to flow over us in a way that we have never experienced before! Don't be content to play around in the shallow waters anymore. Now is the time to jump into the River...Now is the Kairos (time) to come into the Living Waters of His Presence! You will never be the same!!
Ezekiel 47:9 ~ "Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east… And when the man went out to the east with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the water came up to my ankles. Again he measured one thousand and brought me through the waters; the water came up to my knees. Again he measured one thousand and brought me through; the water came up to my waist. Again he measured one thousand, and it was a River that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed. He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he brought me to the bank of the river. When I returned, there, along the bank of the river, were very many trees on one side and the other. Then he said to me: “This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed. And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live."
